Day of Surgery

The day of your surgery may be more comfortable and less stressful if you follow these simple guidelines:

  • Do not eat or drink after midnight the day of your surgery (including gum, candy, water, etc.)
  • Do not smoke past noon the day before your surgery
  • Wear casual loose-fitting clothing that can be folded and stored easily
  • Do not wear any makeup, jewelry (including wedding rings and jewelry in pierced sites), lotion or nail polish
  • Leave all valuables at home; Linden Surgery Center will not be responsible for them
  • If you wear contacts or eyeglasses, please bring a storage case for protection
  • If you use inhalers, please bring them with you
  • Leave children who are not patients at home with a responsible adult
  • You should be accompanied by a responsible adult who can stay during the procedure and take you home afterward.
  • Bring your insurance card and copay/deductible
  • Please arrive promptly at the scheduled time so your surgery is not delayed
