The Rochester Regional Health Linden Surgery Center
From the moment you arrive at the Rochester Regional Health Linden Surgery Center, your comfort and care are our primary concern. Before surgery you will change into a patient gown. Your blood pressure and temperature will be taken and a physician will evaluate you. You will have the opportunity to ask questions.
An adult family member or companion can stay with you to keep you company in our preoperative area until it is time for your surgery. At the appropriate time, a nurse or anesthetist will escort you to the operating room. After surgery, we'll let your visitor know when it is time to see you in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. If your visitor leaves at any time, He/She Must Leave A Phone Number and be capable of being reached when you are ready to be discharged.
If the patient is a child 18 years of age or younger, the parent must stay at the surgery center.
Anesthesia Care
If your surgery requires anesthesia, our anesthesiologists or nurse anesthetists are trained and licensed to perform the service. They will be an integral part of the surgery team along with your physician.
It is important that you report any changes in your physical condition that arise before your day of surgery.
After Your Surgery
- When your surgical procedure is completed, you will be transferred to our recovery room until it is time to be discharged. Recovery times vary from 15 minutes to 3 hours depending on your procedure.
- Written discharge instructions from your doctor will be provided following your surgery. Please follow these instructions.
- A nurse will call you later in the day or the following day to check on your progress if you had more than a local anesthesia.
- It is important you have someone stay with you for 24 hours following surgery if you had anesthesia.
- If you have questions or problems following your discharge, please contact your doctor.
